Sofia Dias, choreographer, dancer, performer, collaborates with Vítor Roriz since 2006. The hybrid nature of their research, associated with a curiosity and need for experimentation led them to the creation of several shows, performances, sound tracks, videos, podcasts and installations, crossing different contexts and blurring boundaries between artistic areas.
She finished her training at EDCN and continued her training in New York, at the Trisha Brown Company, Cunningham Dance Foundation among others; at CEM, at the international course La Nouvelle École des Maîtres – Thierry Salmon with Jan Fabre and Material for the Spine with Steve Paxton. She was awarded a grant by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to participate in DanceWEB of the Impulstanz Festival/2012. In 2013 she was invited to Residence & Reflection at Kunstenfestivaldesarts, in Brussels. She has worked with Sofia Neuparth, Ronit Ziv/Companhia Instável, Javier de Frutos/C.I., Alias Compagnie, Lilia Mestre, Co. Utilité Publique, Maria Ramos, Luís Guerra, Tânia Carvalho, Clara Andermatt, Marco Martins, Mark Tompkins, Tiago Rodrigues and Boris Charmatz [terrain]. Of the places where she has taught, she highlights the courses: PEPCC and PACAP of Fórum Dança, CNDC Toulouse and CEM. He also dedicates himself to sound work, composing the sound environments for his creations and collaborations. In film, she recently participated in Diálogos depois do fim, by director Tiago Guedes. S&V are currently guiding the PACAP 6 Program at Fórum Dança, in Lisbon. Between 2023/24 they are associated artists of the Champalimaud Foundation.
