AORCA (Association for Observation, Regeneration and Creation in the Present Time), between 21st June and 19th September 2021, will organize the first edition of AORCA SUMMER LAB, a support programme for creation in the areas of dance and performance in Lagos.
During this period we will welcome and bring together emerging creators, professional artists and students in the process of professionalization motivated by innovative artistic creation, in a program of sharing practices of performing arts, creation, training, coaching and public presentations.
This program includes Artist Residencies with national and international artists; 7 Creation Labs from 5 July to 17 September; Openstage where you can watch emerging personal work being shared; Public performances, live and in live streaming; Masterclasses for the local community; Youth Creative Lab facilitated by Youtuber Miguel Luz, among other parallel events to be announced.
In AORCA’s view it is important to create this type of programmatic typology focused on contemporary performing arts throughout the year in view of the potential synergies and national and international partnerships, strengthening the cultural offer for the Algarve area. As well as promoting collective awareness of values and ethics with sustainability through the arts.
2021 is year 0 of the AORCA SUMMER LAB program, which aims to continue this program in the following years by creating a relationship with other partners in the region.
